This course equips you with real-world, hands-on skills to handle psychological hazards and manage psychosocial risks in the workplace.

Why Choose OUR PRACTICAL Psychological First Aid Training?

You’ve seen it before: a colleague, friend, or team member seems overwhelmed, withdrawn, or struggling. You want to help but don’t know what to say or how to approach them. The fear of making things worse can hold you back.

Here’s the truth: People in distress don’t need a professional diagnosis—they need someone who listens, cares, and knows how to support them.

We developed this Mental Health First Response to complement traditional Mental Health First Aid training to help others in distress.

You’ll learn:

  • How to approach someone in distress with confidence
  • What to say—and what not to say
  • How to create a culture of psychological safety so they feel comfortable opening up
  • How to guide them toward real solutions—without just passing them off to someone else
  • How to meet legal obligations under the Safe Work Act for psychosocial risk management

You don’t have to be a psychologist to make a difference. You just need the right skills.

The cost of Psychosocial Risks AT WORK

Workplace mental health is no longer just a well-being initiative—it’s a legal obligation. Under Australia’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act, employers must identify, prevent, and manage psychosocial risks to protect employees from mental health hazards. Failing to do so can lead to significant fines, lawsuits, and lost productivity.

Key Facts Every Employer Must Know:

  • Costs to businesses is $3,200 per employee / year  with untreated mental health challenges (KPMG).
  • Claims have tripled in cost, average $58,615 per claim (Safe Work Australia).
  • Non-compliance fines can reach up to $16,634,000 for businesses and $3,327,000 for individuals under WHS laws (Comcare).
  • Employers must implement a structured strategy that includes prevention, education, and systematic check-ins to monitor employee well-being. (Safe Work Australia)

Ensure your business is compliant, protect employee well-being, and reduce financial risk. Mental Health first aid training is only effective if it prevents issues and creates a culture of awareness and safety.

What's the Difference Between Mental Health First Responder (MHFR) & Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)?

While both programs are certified and endorsed by the Mental Health Foundation Australia, there are some key differences. Mental Health First Responder (MHFR) training is more focused on Promotion, Prevention & Early Intervention Support, creating skill sets for people to support mental health distress, and equipping them with the resources required to establish effective mental health frameworks in workplaces.
In contrast, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is focused on understanding the different types of mental health issues and connecting to professional support services in times of crisis.
